Stewardship & Service

We integrate stewardship and service projects in programs where possible so young people have a chance to give back to their community, understand their agency in the world, and have a positive impact in the places we visit.

We have worked with a variety of community partners over the years to give youth many ways to see the positive impact they can have. Thank you to these partners:

Animals for Natural Therapy

Bellingham Community Meals

Blue Skies for Children

City of Bellingham Parks and Recreation

Habitat for Humanity

International Coastal Cleanup

Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association

Opportunity Council - Chore Program

Recreation Northwest

Washington Trails Association

Whatcom Land Trust

Whatcom Volunteer Center

…and many more!

With over a decade of quality programming
and environmental education experience,
Wild Whatcom is a leader in their field
and we are eager to work alongside them.”
— Amy Brown, City of Bellingham Parks Volunteer Coordinator

Each year, through our programs and with our participants and partners, we provide thousands of hours of service back to the community.

We appreciate our longstanding partners and other groups in town helping to protect and restore our public outdoor spaces.

This past Year We:

Provided more than 1,240 volunteer hours with more than 265 volunteers.

Removed 326 lbs of trash from local beaches.

Spread over 25 cubic yards of mulch at Happy Valley Park.

Helped improve 4 different service sites.

I just wanted to say how great your partnership is with the parks department. [Our child] really loved that feeling of doing something for his community and took real ownership of it. We’ve even visited the trees that he prepped for winter!
