Sample Itinerary
Activities may vary depending on participant interests and variable safety considerations (i.e. weather, preparedness, support needs)
8:30-9:00: Drop-off* and Free Play
9:00-9:15: Opening Circle
Introductions: Share names and pronouns
Cover physical and heart safety
9:15-9:45: Toileting, Handwashing, and Snack
9:45-10:00: Safe Beach Etiquette
What marine life do you think we will find here today? How do we safely engage with this marine life?
Cover safe beach etiquette with call and response and body movements
10:00-11:30: Free Explore, Reading, Art
Free explore-looking for crabs, anemones, sand dollars, sea stars, and barnacles while learning about each incredible animal
Walk like crabs and build crabitats
Read about a crabby crab, a bored barnacle, and a pushy plankton
“Paint” beach rocks with water, make clay shell prints, and make bubble paintings
11:30-12:00: Toileting, Handwashing, and Lunch
12:00-12:30: Closing Circle
Attitude of gratitude
12:30: Pick-up
*Drop-off will be a window from 8:30-9:00AM. Please do your best to arrive as close to 8:30AM as possible. We anticipate that it may take some time for your child to become comfortable as you depart and we start the day.
